I believe that Dr. T. K. Hubert first bought the practice between 1861 and 1870 before emigrating to New Zealand where he died shortly after of TB. His younger brother Dr. W. H. Hubert took over the practice living at the 'Brick House' which was where the Nat West Bank now stands, after his marriage in 1871 to Isabel Claridge from Berkhamstead, the daughter of a friend of his father. WH died of a heart attack whilst playing goal in a hockey match locally in November 1911. His son Dr. W. A. Hubert assisted his father and took over the practice when WH died, and had 'Rose Hill' built. My grandfather, Dr. J. A. Churchill assisted at the practice and married WH's daughter Sybil Hubert. My father was brought up initially at the 'Brick House'.
The picture of WH in the stables is probably much earlier than the others. My father J. H. Churchill, identified many of the people and places in the photos before he died in 1985.
